Indicadores de sustentabilidad para la gestión ambiental de un destino turístico: el caso de Miramar, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract

La sustentabilidad se presenta como una premisa de desarrollo para la renovación de destinos turísticos litorales, con dificultades de operacionalización. Los modelos e indicadores de ciudades sustentables constituyen como herramientas válidas para su consecución. El objetivo del trabajo es establecer y evaluar indicadores de sustentabilidad para la gestión ambiental de un destino turístico urbano litoral y establecer su vinculación con los principios operativos del desarrollo sustentable, considerando la utilización y consumo de recursos y la generación de desechos, en la localidad de Miramar (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Los indicadores establecidos se constituyen en un aporte para el análisis del desempeño ambiental de destinos turísticos litorales. Los resultados evidencian una falta de eficiencia respecto de la utilización y consumo de recursos en la ciudad de Miramar, que en el corto plazo reduce la posibilidad de su configuración como destino sustentable.
