La construcción del destino turístico entre prácticas, símbolos y movilidades. Etnografía de un fin de semana largo en Villa de Merlo (San Luis, Argentina)

Abstract

Las transformaciones más recientes del turismo obligan a repensar la constitución de los destinos turísticos. Es necesario considerar las múltiples relaciones tejidas entre el sector público, el empresariado y la fuerza de trabajo del sector turístico y los turistas, en tanto consumidores de productos y servicios. Con el objetivo de analizar cómo se construye Villa de Merlo (San Luis, Argentina) en destino turístico, se propone la idea de “matrices semióticas de producción y consumo de productos y servicios turísticos” como aporte para la comprensión integral de las prácticas turísticas. En el marco del método etnográfico, se analizó folletería y propaganda, impresa y virtual, y se llevó adelante un trabajo de campo durante un fin de semana largo, donde se realizaron observación directa y entrevistas semi-estructuradas a turistas en el destino.
