Abstract

Este trabajo presenta los profundos cambios que ha sufrido la costa norte del Estado de Quintana Roo, que ha pasado de ser una zona aislada y poco poblada a convertirse en la Riviera Maya, el primer destino turístico internacional de México. El desarrollo local fue absorbido por el global, representado por las grandes corporaciones que han hecho de este corredor una zona global.
