El empleo en las ramas características del turismo en Argentina

Abstract

El turismo es una importante fuente de creación de empleos, y es por ello que en muchos países, los decisores de políticas públicas están interesados en desarrollar este sector. Las estadísticas pueden esclarecer la contribución de la actividad a la creación de puestos de trabajo, y orientar las políticas al respecto. En este trabajo se analizaron algunas características del empleo en el sector turismo en Argentina, en base a la EPH (INDEC) y la Encuesta de Ocupación Hotelera y Parahotelera (EOH, INDEC-SECTUR). Se abordan aspectos metodológicos, las distintas fuentes de información disponibles, y la integración de estas estimaciones a otras metodologías utilizadas para las cuentas nacionales y el cálculo del impacto económico del turismo, como la Cuenta Satélite de Turismo. También se abordan aspectos relativos a la necesidad de organización institucional del relevamiento de la información en esta temática, para garantizar el acceso a fuentes de información y la continuidad en el tiempo de las estimaciones.
