Abstract

In the post-pandemic context, an increase in the incidence of an unusual agent was observed, Trichophyton Tonsurans, an anthropophilic agent that grows within the hair follicle, generating a different clinical picture from the rest of the agents and its contagion is possible thanks to the use of hair care, shaving and hygiene elements.). In order to prepare the final thesis, the section of articles published on the PubMed and Google Scholar platform is used, the Dermatology Service of the Fernández Hospital of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, carried out an investigation on ringworms on the scalp, Due to the increase in the incidence of consultations, collecting different medical histories of patients who present symptoms or are suspected of having had the mycosis. Including cases from 2021 to 2022, in order to carry out the investigation, they collected information from 37 patients, taking samples for direct examination and fungal culture. (A high prevalence of Trychophyton Tonsurans was observed in patients with a history of contact in barbershops and treatment with terbinafine was effective. The isolation of Trichophyton Tonsurans has the action of an emerging germ in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, so carrying out a correct anamnesis and the corresponding tests together with the training of barbers, will allow confirming the mycosis and thus carrying out the treatment.
