The Charrúa Nation People. Debates in the field of humanities and social sciences in the province of Entre Ríos from the twentieth century to the present. Approach from an intercultural perspective

From an intercultural perspective, this research seeks to contribute to discussions about the continued presence of the Charrúa Nation People in Entre Ríos during the 20th and 21st centuries in the field of humanities and social sciences. An interdisciplinary documentary survey is carried out in universities, from an interdisciplinary perspective, including philosophy, anthropology, sociology, ethics, law, history, semiotics and social work, as well as interviews with researchers on indigenous peoples. The search in library and theses catalogues of UADER has yielded limited results, with little academic production identified. The researchers consulted in Argentina and Uruguay have referred to works on the Charrúa Nation People in Uruguay, but none are aware of research related to Entre Ríos, Argentina. It is preliminarily concluded that the invisibilization or denial of the existence of the Charrúa people reinforces a colonialist and Eurocentric vision of the province, which has lasted from the colonial era to the present. This hegemonic view denies the existence of Charrúa identities and other indigenous peoples, both in symbolic and material aspects, evidenced in the lack of policies for the restitution of territories, no implementation of Bilingual Intercultural Education and intercultural health and absence of prior consultations on policies with environmental and cultural impact, among others. There is a paucity of historical and archaeological knowledge production on this subject, with only one study identified so far
