Overweight and obesity in pre-school and school children: A systematic review on the more general effects of this disease

Abstract

Childhood obesity is a condition affecting children characterized by excessive weight gain in relation to their height and height. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity and overweight as “abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat that may be harmful to health”. Obesity is an important risk factor as it can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels, metabolic syndrome, among others. The aim of this article is to identify the most frequent affectations, the risk factors, the evaluation and approach to the disease, to know the incidence in children in Argentina, using other articles published in PubMed, Google Scholar, Tripbase, Argentine Society of Pediatrics, as a source of data, thus achieving a systematic review of them
