Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) developed by human intelligence emerges as an aid to provide solutions, especially for those activities considered complex or that could be automated. This research analyzed the role of artificial intelligence as a source of knowledge and the risks associated with ignorance in a current context where, in the face of any doubt and need for information, AI is often thought of as an allied resource and a 21st century polymath. The study was developed under a non-experimental quantitative approach and a descriptive design. The sample used was a convenience sample of 115 people willing to participate in the research located in the city of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), of legal age and generally in a productive stage. The results concluded the contribution that AI has in knowledge but also the biases that can occur; giving also the possibility of promoting ignorance depending on how the information is treated and understood to be processed by the human mind.
