Abstract

Communication in healthcare institutions is an essential process that has a direct impact on service quality and staff welfare. This study analyzed the deficiencies in internal communication within a public hospital in Rosario, focusing on the maternity ward. Recurrent problems were identified, such as the absence of formal channels for the exchange of information, which leads to inconsistencies in shifts, work stress and interpersonal conflicts. Lack of planning in the distribution of tasks and inadequate protocols were also detected. The proposals included a strategic plan to improve communication processes through the implementation of tools such as the SBAR model and the incorporation of corporate social networks. In addition, training in leadership and effective communication was suggested to reinforce teamwork, minimize stress and optimize patient care. Previous results indicate that well-structured communication fosters a positive work climate, reduces conflicts and increases staff motivation. These measures seek not only to improve institutional efficiency, but also the quality of care provided
