Abstract

Background: Chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP) is one of the leading causes of disability and work absenteeism in adults. Emerging evidence indicates that anxiety may contribute to the persistence and perception of this condition. A systematic review of recent scientific literature, focusing on studies assessing the relationship between anxiety and CMP. Preliminary trends show a link between anxiety and increased functional impact. In addition to synthesizing recent studies and prevalent scientific evidence about the relationship between anxiety and CMP. Incorporating mental health assessment and management into CMP care may enhance clinical outcomes and reduce socioeconomic burden.
