Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the integration of ICT tools as a resource for educational innovation to strengthen environmental education in the first cycle of secondary school at Elpidio Brito Cueto High School during the 2022-2023 school year. The methodology employed was based on a quantitative, descriptive, bibliographic, and field approach. The data collection technique was a survey. A questionnaire was used as the instrument. The population consisted of three members of the management team, 16 teachers, and 100 students. The sample was taken non-probabilistically or by convenience; therefore, the three members of the management team, the 16 teachers, and the 38 students were selected. The data were organized and categorized using a spreadsheet and the survey was completed using an online form. The results show discrepancies regarding the technological tools used by teachers to promote environmental education. It was concluded that teachers use cloud-based productivity platforms, cloud storage, note-taking and organization applications, online graphic design platforms, e-book creators, and survey, questionnaire, and form creators as frequently as once a week, under the didactic strategies of incidental learning, contextual learning, adaptive teaching, and emotion analysis. The activities students engage in include ICT-based tasks, watching audiovisual material, and creating digital portfolios.
