Abstract

Environmental education in universities is essential for sustainability. The Physical Culture program should integrate environmental strategies into its curriculum to promote responsible behavior in protecting the environment. The objective is to propose actions that strengthen environmental management among Physical Culture students through core university processes. A qualitative and descriptive approach was used, employing theoretical and empirical methods such as surveys, observations, and interviews. Faculty and students from the University of Camagüey participated in analyzing the incorporation of environmental education into the curriculum. Deficiencies were identified in integrating environmental education into university processes, as well as a lack of assessment of local environmental issues. Actions were designed to enhance environmental training for both faculty and students, strengthen sustainability research, and promote responsible practices within the university community. Implementing environmental strategies in Physical Culture education contributes to students' holistic development and commitment to sustainability. The proposed actions will enable better environmental management and the resolution of professional challenges in this field.
