Riesgos ergonómicos presentes en el personal de salud: Un problema de salud ocupacional. Revisión de la literatura

Abstract

Los trastornos músculo esqueléticos (TME) constituyen un problema prioritario de salud ocupacional en el personal sanitario, debido a la exposición continua a riesgos ergonómicos como posturas forzadas, movimientos repetitivos, manipulación manual de pacientes, uso prolongado de computadoras y largas jornadas laborales. Con el fin de sintetizar la evidencia reciente sobre estos factores de riesgo, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de literatura científica publicada entre 2019 y 2023. La búsqueda se efectuó en EBSCO, eLibro, ProQuest, SciELO y Google Académico, aplicando criterios de inclusión y exclusión previamente definidos. Se seleccionaron 12 artículos centrados en trabajadores de salud, incluyendo estudios originales, revisiones sistemáticas, diseños transversales y caso-control. El análisis descriptivo y narrativo consideró la prevalencia de TME, las regiones corporales afectadas y los factores ergonómicos asociados. La prevalencia reportada osciló entre 25,5 % y 86 %. Las zonas más comprometidas fueron la región lumbar y cervical, así como hombros, espalda y extremidades superiores. Los grupos ocupacionales con mayor afectación incluyeron enfermería, camilleros, personal médico y administrativo. Los principales riesgos identificados fueron alta carga física, posturas estáticas o forzadas, jornadas extensas, estrés laboral y escasas pausas activas. La evidencia respalda fortalecer estrategias preventivas integrales con intervenciones ergonómicas, organizacionales y programas de promoción de la salud.
