Abstract

Higher education is facing a historical crisis and a change of era. The characteristics of this crisis are the loss of the vision that education is and should be a process, rather than a product. This crisis in higher education has negative consequences for society, as it reduces opportunities for student development and the progress of society as a whole. Analyzing the crisis in higher education and identifying the factors along with the impacts it contains allows for the proposal of specific recommendations to address and overcome the crisis.
