Abstract

The municipality of Los Palacios has faced significant challenges in terms of economic development and resource management, which have demanded a profound review of its approach towards municipal autonomy and sustainability. In response to these challenges, the aim of this article is to analyze how the implementation of science-based management and innovation can transform local public management and promote sustainable development. To achieve this, a qualitative methodology was adopted, including the analysis of documents and specific case studies within the municipality. The results indicate that the adoption of innovative practices and the strengthening of organizational culture have significantly improved the efficiency of municipal processes and the quality of life of citizens. The most relevant conclusion is that effective local public management, supported by science and innovation, not only optimizes resources but also fosters greater citizen participation and more effective strategic planning, key elements for sustainable local development.
