Film club as a weapon of mass construction: resistance and cinematic diversity

Abstract

This article examines the importance of the "Cineclub Corral de Piedra" in Tibasosa, Boyacá, as a non-formal education project since 2018. This film club fosters the collective experience of film watching, promoting critical thinking and the formation of a learning community. By challenging the cultural hegemony of commercial cinema and showcasing independent proposals, the film club positions itself as a space of political and cultural resistance, in line with the theories of Foucault (1977) and Gramsci (1971). Furthermore, the film club facilitates the critical analysis of cinematic narratives, contributing to a deeper and more plural understanding of social and political reality.
