2030 Agenda: Gender perspective in coastal protection in Cienfuegos Bay, Cuba

Gender analysis in resource management demands to consider the roles traditionally assigned to it, with respect to the socially constructed power differences assigned to women and men in the productive and reproductive spheres, as well as the new roles and insertions that are experiencing associated with the ecological conditions of the coastal zones, as a public legal good; the state of infrastructure, socioeconomic development, among others. The present work aims to focus on the importance of having a look at the gender issue in the protection of the environment of the Bay of Cienfuegos, Cuba, proposes to direct and develop the study and diagnosis in the coastal marine environment studied to contribute to the elaboration of public policies that make visible the importance of this approach in the conservation of the ecosystems of the bay. The foregoing is relevant considering that the right to enjoy a healthy environment is a fundamental human right, which can only be resolved with the help of States and their citizens in general; Likewise, it is a right to achieve gender equality, both budgets established by the 2030 Agenda and by the Millennium objectives.
