Comparison of protocols, values in automated equipment and manual processes hematology - hemograms

Protocols and values for automated equipment were compared with manual processes in clinical laboratories, evaluating advantages, limitations, and impact on diagnostic quality. Studies on hematological variability between methods, technological guidelines for device implementation, cases of neonatal screening, and the development of professional competencies were analyzed. The results showed that automated systems improve efficiency and reproducibility but have limitations in detecting morphological abnormalities, with significant discrepancies in parameters such as red blood cells, platelets, and hematocrit. It was found that up to 5% of samples exceeded acceptable error limits when comparing different analyzers, and that 79.5% of initial abnormalities in neonatal screening were transient after manual confirmation. Technological guidelines facilitated decision-making, but gaps persisted in ethical competencies (33.5%) and equipment handling (30.5%). It was concluded that complementarity between methods is essential for diagnostic accuracy, and that the development of critical thinking and ethics in professionals is fundamental for managing automated systems, ensuring patient safety.
