Research trends in health service user satisfaction in Latin American countries: A bibliographic review

Introduction: User satisfaction with health services is an important topic today, as it reflects the quality and effectiveness of care they receive. In Latin America, where socioeconomic and cultural contexts are diverse, it is essential to understand how users perceive and value these services. Objective: To conduct a bibliographic review of scientific production on user satisfaction with health services in Latin American countries. Material and method: A bibliographic review of scientific production was conducted in open access databases, Pubmed, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo and UNAN repository. Scientific articles and research theses whose publication period did not exceed 5 years, in English and Spanish, were included. The Rayyan tool was used to organize the search and manage the data obtained. Discussion and Results: Significant increase in research on user satisfaction in health services, but areas such as rural contexts and vulnerable populations require more attention. Satisfaction varies according to socioeconomic and cultural factors, making user participation crucial. Conclusions: The literature review provides a clear overview of trends in research on user satisfaction with health services in Latin America, highlighting topics such as patient-centered care, equity in access to health services, use of information technologies, and interdisciplinary research.
