Training strategies for the prevention of mental disorders and associated factors in teachers

Mental health, defined as the state of psychic well-being, is of great importance due to its impact on each stage of life and on the daily relationships of individuals. Objective: To propose training strategies for the prevention of mental disorders and associated factors in patients (teachers) treated at Ipasme San Carlos, Cojedes state. Materials and Method: The research was approached from the positivist paradigm and quantitative approach, supported by a non-experimental field design under the feasible project modality. The population consisted of 247 teachers, selecting a representative sample of 20%. For the collection of data, the survey technique was used and as an instrument a questionnaire containing sixteen (16) dichotomous questions. The validity of the instrument was carried out through expert judgment and reliability was obtained through the Kuder Richardson coefficient. Results: It was shown that teachers affiliated with Ipasme in San Carlos, Cojedes state, lack knowledge about the meaning of mental disorders and associated factors and their prevention. Likewise, the increase in the signs and symptoms of the disease is related to the family component due to the lack of a family environment that positively impacts their personality, the absence of optimal working conditions, together with political harassment and the consumption of cigarettes and alcohol. Conclusion: Teachers affiliated with Ipasme in San Carlos, Cojedes state, require training strategies that allow them to manage stress and emotions.
