Why is Álvaro Uribe the first former Colombian president called to trial by a judicial entity?

Abstract

For the first time in the History of Colombia, a Former President is called to trial before an entity of the Judicial Branch such as the Attorney General's Office; It is former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez who will begin his trial process in May 2024. In this essay, the participation of 30 people involved in this case and their critical-argumentative contribution will be analyzed; The Dialectical Method (Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis) and the Logical Theory of Fallacies will be used to determine what physical and evidentiary elements induced the aforementioned Prosecutor Gilberto Villarreal to formally accuse Former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez, after the Prosecutors' failed PRECLUSION requests. Gabriel Jaimes and Francisco Cárdenas, as well as after the defense of the Attorney General of the Nation Margarita Cabello Blanco. For this purpose, a chronological account will be made of how it has been.
