The Role of the Capitalist Education System in the Reproduction of Labour Relations

Knowledge generates the power to transform societies. Those who possess this power of transformation—knowledge—also wield power over society. Throughout history, at times, the state has held this power, while at other times, it has been the capitalist class. Whether held by the state or the capitalist class, they have sustained their power of societal transformation, or their authority, through certain means. The most significant of these means has been education. Education, which is one of the most important instruments in functionalizing the human mind, has been transformed into a lathe workshop for the capitalist class. Indeed, in every era, the capitalist class seeks to transform societies in line with its own interests. This societal transformation necessitates two stages: economic and political. Within this framework, the capitalist class, which seeks to maximize its benefits, discovers new investment areas and trains the necessary labor force in educational areas termed as lathe workshops
