Abstract

Media literacy provides an understanding of the messages conveyed by the media and a critical perspective to understand the nature of the messages and why they are conveyed. For this purpose, media literacy courses are of great importance in raising awareness of children and young people about the media and its effects. The aim of this study is to determine the media literacy levels of 600 middle school students in Istanbul and to reveal statistical differences according to demographic characteristics.
