Moral oder ökonomisches Gesetz?

Abstract

Die These des Beitrags ist: Moral lässt sich nicht gegen, sondern nur mit den ökonomischen Gesetzen realisieren, oder umgekehrt: Eine Moral, die gegen grundlegende ökonomische Gesetze verstößt, kann im Wettbewerb keinen Bestand haben. Diese These wird mit Argumenten von E. Böhm-Bawerk erläutert und an der Etablierung von Demokratie, Mitbestimmung am Arbeitsplatz und sozialer Sicherung illustriert. Weiter wird gezeigt, wie bedeutende Theorieentwicklungen in der Ökonomik der letzten 50 Jahre eine hohe Absorptionsfähigkeit für ethische Probleme, Theoreme und Ideale aufweisen. Dies ist besonders auf eine Erweiterung des Paradigmas der Ökonomik zurückzuführen – und zwar auf eine Erweiterung in sachlicher (offener Vorteilsbegriff), zeitlicher (Nachhaltigkeit) und personaler (Interaktionsökonomik) Hinsicht. Abschließend wird das heuristische Potential der Konzeption für ungelöste ethische und ökonomische Probleme (Armut, Arbeitslosigkeit, Bildungsinvestitionen und Verantwortung der Unternehmen) skizziert.
