Kommunale Unternehmen auf Expansionskurs

Abstract

In den letzten Jahren haben kommunale Unternehmen weiter expandiert. In einigen profitablen Bereichen, vor allem der Energiewirtschaft und der Abfallwirtschaft, stehen sie dabei in direkter Konkurrenz mit privaten Unternehmen. Zwischen dem Anfang des Jahrzehnts 2010 und 2014 (letzter verfügbarer Datenstand) ist der Umsatz in den Flächenbundesländern fast 17 Prozent oder 42,2 Milliarden auf 293,4 Milliarden Euro gestiegen.
