Die Maritime Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holsteins: Strukturen und ökonomische Bedeutung

Abstract

Die "Maritime Wirtschaft" Schleswig-Holsteins besteht nach Definition der Autoren zum einen aus einem Kernbereich, der unmittelbar maritime Aktivitäten wie Schifffahrt, Hafenwirtschaft, Fischerei, meeresbezogene Produktion und Forschung umfasst ("Maritime Wirtschaft I"). Zum anderen kommen Produkte und Dienstleistungen aus breiter aufgestellten Branchen hinzu, die für diesen maritimen Kernbereich Zulieferer oder Abnehmer sind ("Maritime Wirtschaft II"). Sie stellen fest, dass die maritimen Umsätze in den Kernbereichen der Maritimen Wirtschaft I in den letzten Jahren deutlich zunahmen, während sie in der Maritimen Wirtschaft II im Durchschnitt eher stagnierten. Die Beschäftigungsentwicklung verlief hingegen in der Maritimen Wirtschaft II dynamischer. Die Maritime Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holsteins ist eher kleinteilig organisiert: Statt großer Unternehmen dominieren kleine und mittlere Unternehmen. Die Autoren kommen zu dem Ergebnis, dass die Maritime Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holsteins zwar kleiner ist, als man es von einem Küstenland erwarten würde, sie leistet aber dennoch einen substanziellen Beitrag zum wirtschaftlichen Ergebnis Schleswig-Holsteins.
