As Três Grandes Universidades Públicas Paulistas Valem o que Custam?

Abstract

Busca-se neste estudo, com uma visão estritamente econômica, estimar quantitativamente o diferencial de produtividade dos egressos de USP, Unicamp e Unesp em comparação com profissionais formados por outras instituições de ensino superior e comparar esse diferencial com o investimento feito pela sociedade para realizá-lo. Adota-se o procedimento padrão em estudos econômicos de considerar diferenciais de salários como indicativos de diferenciais de produtividade. Compararam-se os níveis salariais obtidos por mais de 138 mil formados pelas três universidades entre 2005 e 2015 com mais de 13 milhões de profissionais com nível universitário. Os resultados indicam que uma pessoa com graduação em uma dessas universidades auferia em 2018 níveis salariais 62% maiores (diferencial bruto); descontando-se as características pessoais (gênero, idade) e a qualidade do emprego obtido (setor de atividade, tempo no emprego, unidade da federação e a ocupação específica), a diferença reduz-se para 24% (diferencial líquido), com diferenças entre as três universidades.
