Abstract

English Abstract: World experience shows that enterprises operating in clusters, thanks to the network of mutual connections, as well as close cooperation with institutions from the sphere of science, education or administration, become more competitive and achieve greater successes. The development of clusters affects not only the development of companies, but also the entire regions where they are located. They allow better use of internal regional development potentials and attract external investors. In fact, the clusters themselves and the industries in which they operate can be treated as the most important endogenous development potential of specific regions. From this perspective, it is also worth analyzing the possibilities of using the idea of ??clusters to dynamize the development of the Podlaskie region. Statistical surveys using the location indicator allow to identify regional industry specialization both in static and dynamic approach. The analysis carried out according to poviats and industries indicates the important role currently played by the food, wood and furniture, metal, tourist and bakery sectors in the Voivodeship. The last two are characterized by a small dynamics of development or stagnation in the scale of the Voivodeship and individual poviats. In other cases, the degree of concentration of industries, as well as the dynamics of development, are diversified for individual poviats of the Podlasie Voivodeship, but in general they create objectively favorable conditions for the development of cluster structures. In addition, industries that are important from the point of view of development processes can be divided into three groups: the current industry, the future industry and the "question marks" industries.
