Les caractéristiques du dirigeant de PME en hypercroissance : une revue de la littérature

Abstract

Quelles sont les caractéristiques des dirigeants d'entreprises, et plus particulièrement d'entreprises en hypercroissance ? Après avoir défini la notion d'hypercroissance (1), les auteurs dressent un état des lieux des traits psychologiques caractéristiques des dirigeants qui ont été identifiés par de nombreux auteurs. Pour la plupart, les traits caractéristiques des dirigeants ont un lien direct avec la croissance de l'entreprise, pour d'autres, l'impact est peu marqué, voire inexistant (2). Au travers de la littérature publiée sur les thèmes de la croissance et de l'hypercroissance, les auteurs cherchent à comprendre si les dirigeants des entreprises en hypercroissance ont des traits distinctifs des autres dirigeants, et si la forte croissance de l'entreprise est essentiellement fondée sur des caractéristiques psychologiques propres aux dirigeants (3). Ils concluent à une forte prégnance du dirigeant dans la croissance rapide de son entreprise mais invitent à asseoir plus encore ces constats issus de la littérature par de plus amples investigations empiriques.
