L'economie du travail propose differents cadres theoriques d'interpretation qui tentent d'expliquer le role des incitations monetaires (tournois, paiement differe, etc.). En nous appuyant sur l'enquete jeunes et mobilite complementaire a l'enquete emploi INSEE 1997 et a partir de la nomenclature des Professions des Categories Socioprofessionnelles (PCS) tentons de montrer l'existence de tels modes de remuneration et nous identifions les differentes PCS au sein desquelles les contrats de tournois (promotions) et/ou a paiement differe (anciennete, individualisation) sont utilises.
