Internal income inequality and global inequality

Abstract

Nos simulations du document P25 sur l’évolution utilisées de l’inégalité mondiale de 1992 à 2030 reposent sur l’hypothèse que les distributions à l’intérieur des pays sont parfaitement stables depuis 1992. Nous avions repris pour toutes les années les distributions internes de 1992 utilisées par Bourguignon et Morrisson (2002). Mais nous savons que les distributions ont changé de 1992 à 2008, les variations pouvant être parfois importantes, et que l’évolution de 2008 à 2030 peut être différente selon les hypothèses faites sur les divers facteurs qui influencent la distribution. L’objectif de ce document est de prendre en compte les variations de l’inégalité à l’intérieur des pays afin d’estimer l’inégalité réelle, qui résulte à la fois des inégalités de revenu moyen entre pays et des inégalités à l’intérieur des pays. Pour la période 1992-2008, il s’agit des inégalités mesurées par des enquêtes sur le revenu des ménages. Pour 2008-2030 nous avons fait des hypothèses sur les évolutions possibles à partir de l’analyse des distributions de revenus en 1992- 2008 qui révèlent les facteurs de changement.
