Abstract

Die vorliegende Studie untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen Digitalisierungs- und Innovationsvorhaben in mittelständischen Unternehmen in Deutschland. Ausgangspunkt der Studie ist eine auseinanderlaufende Entwicklung der beiden Aktivitäten in den vergangenen Jahren. Während der Anteil der Unternehmen, die Innovationen eingeführt haben, schon seit längerer Zeit rückläufig ist, nahm der Anteil der Unternehmen, die Digitalisierungsvorhaben abgeschlossen haben, deutlich zu und liegt - nach Daten des KfWMittelstandspanels - nun deutlich über dem Innovatorenanteil. Eine konzeptionelle Analyse der Definition und Messung von Innovation und Digitalisierung, empirische Untersuchungen auf Basis von Daten des KfWMittelstandspanels, des Mannheimer Innovationspanels und des ERP Digitalisierungs- und Innovationskredits sowie 20 Tiefeninterviews mit mittelständischen Unternehmen erbrachten Anhaltspunkte, die die auseinanderlaufende Entwicklung von Digitalisierung und Innovation erklären können: [...]
