Abstract

La innovación tiene muchas miradas y es un proceso complejo para las organizaciones. No es simplemente tratar de hacer nuevos productos y servicios para aumentar las ventas. Tiene que ver, en primera instancia, con la creatividad y la concepción de las ideas, pero las ideas por sí mismas no sirven, ahora hay que llevarlas a la realidad; sin embargo, para esto, en una empresa, deben pasar por todas las áreas de la misma, ya que esta idea debe ser, ante todo: original. útil. apropiada y viable para el momento y la estrategia que se persigue. Con una idea de las características anteriores es necesario entonces construir productos, procesos y servicios con modelos de negocios que garanticen que el resultado sea altamente rentable, de baja imitabilidad, diferenciador y que genere competitividad. Como se puede ver, no es labor de una sola persona, es un esfuerzo organizacional; así, las diferentes miradas y aportes a este trabajo las encontramos en este libro, en el que participaron todos los profesores, quienes han contribuido a lo largo de más de 20 promociones en el programa de Maestría en Gerencia de la Innovación Empresarial y de otras tantas del programa de Especialización en Innovación y Desarrollo de Negocios de la Facultad de Administración de Empresas de la Universidad Externado de Colombia; profesores que con su reflexión, investigación y labor educativa han contribuido a formar, conjuntamente en ambos programas, a más de 600 egresados.
