Abstract

Auf die Einführung von Schutzzöllen durch die USA reagieren die betroffenen Länder mit protektionistischen Maßnahmen. Die Auswirkungen dieser Entwicklung bergen Risiken für die Weltkonjunktur. Die Europäische Union treibt die Verhandlungen von Freihandelsabkommen voran und versucht, die von den USA wieder aufgenommenen Sanktionen gegen den Iran für europäische Unternehmen abzufedern. Die Sorge vor einer neuerlichen Migrationswelle dominiert die Tagung des Europäischen Rates. In den USA steigen die Leitzinssätze; die Europäische Zentralbank plant, die Anleihenankäufe bis Ende 2018 auslaufen zu lassen. – Das Verfahren zur Ratifizierung des Handelsabkommens CETA wird vom österreichischen Nationalrat abgeschlossen. Das Parlament beschließt die Einführung des "Familienbonus plus" und beschäftigt sich mit der Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung, die eine Tageshöchstarbeitszeit von 12 Stunden und eine Wochenhöchstarbeitszeit von 60 Stunden ermöglichen könnte.
