Abstract

We are all contemporaries of a rapidly changing information society. Digitization is entering all spheres of life, including the lives of farmers. The agricultural sector is not only no exception to this natural modern process, but it is also one of the fastest modernizing and dynamically developing sectors in the field of digitalization. This process imposes the need of specific new competencies and skills the staff working in the digital farm should have. The report aims to reveal the main goals of digital agriculture, its essence, in order to be able to discover the specific skills and competencies the agricultural staff should have when working in a new digital environment. In order to achieve the goal of this report, a survey has been developed and specific depths of pre-structured interviews have been conducted to cover the three main stakeholders in the process - farmers (tenants), programmers and students from the agricultural sector. Methods of deduction, induction, comparative analysis, survey method, etc. are applied.
