El sector naval de Corea del Sur y España: análisis comparado de los principales indicadores de competitividad, 1970-1990

Abstract

Para diferenciar el origen de las divergencias en términos de capacidad competitiva entre España y Corea del Sur en la industria de construcción de embarcaciones, se ha realizado un estudio de un conjunto de indicadores de competitividad, y más en profundidad de los costes laborales unitarios. El incremento continuado de la productividad y los salarios que se ha producido en Corea del Sur contrasta con el estancamiento de estas dos variables en el caso del sector naval español. Corea del Sur, que ha desarrollado su industria naval en un adverso periodo de crisis del sector, optó por una estrategia de desarrollo basada en la orientación exportadora. Las diferencias competitivas entre España y Corea del Sur son resultado de estrategias de política industrial muy diferentes durante el periodo comprendido entre 1970 y 1990.
