Abstract

Digital technology has literally transformed the world, generating unprecedented opportunities for humanity. Because, in addition to being a powerful means of production and access to information, it plays a decisive role in the promotion of exchanges, the establishment of links or relations between individuals. Nevertheless, despite its advantageous possibilities, cyberspace tend more and more to constitute a harmful framework for blooming of youth. In particular, because of the deplorable manipulative tendencies that unfold there with disconcerting ease. In this work, it is a question of considering the means of stemming the surge of manipulation of which young people are victims in the digital universe. Thus, based on an analytical and exploratory approach, we propose a critical approach to digital citizenship education as a solution to the manipulation to which young people are subject on digital platforms. It is a question of endowing them, in the school system, with a critical spirit which should allow them to have a sense of discernment, questioning and spirit of verification, called upon to serve as prerequisites for any validation of information online. The acquisition of this learning requires teachers to adopt teaching animation techniques that favor debate and argumentation.
