Abstract

Aula P. and Harmaakorpi V. An innovative milieu - a view on regional reputation building: case study of the Lahti urban region, Regional Studies. This article examines regional innovation strategies and their relationships in building regional reputation. The article studies whether it is possible for a region to build its reputation as an innovative milieu squeezed in-between the large urban regions with universities, and how such a reputation can be further enhanced. At the same time, an opinion is expressed as to how the concept of reputation can be adapted in the framework of cities' image or attraction factors. [image omitted] Aula P. et Harmaakorpi V. Cet article cherche a examiner les strategies d'innovation regionales et leurs rapports quant a l'etablissement d'une reputation regionale. L'article examine si, oui ou non, il est possible qu'une region puisse etablir une reputation comme milieu innovateur glisse entre les grandes regions urbaines dotees d'universites, et comment on pourrait ameliorer davantage une telle reputation. En meme temps, on commente l'adaptation de la notion de reputation dans le cadre de l'image de marque et des forces motrices des grandes villes. Untersucht wird die Frage, ob sich eine zwischen grossen Stadtregionen mit Universitaten eingezwangte Region einen Ruf als innovatives Milieu aufbauen kann und wie sich ein solcher Ruf weiter verbessern lasst. Gleichzeitig wird eine Meinung ausgedruckt, wie sich das Konzept des Rufs im Rahmen des Image oder der Anziehungsfaktoren von Stadten anpassen lasst.
