Les origines marxiennes de l’institutionnalisme monétaire
[The Marxian origins of monetary institutionalism]

Abstract

Les deux courants de l’institutionnalisme monétaire francophone, analyse monétaire et approche monétaire, se situent dans un rapport de filiation critique avec Marx. S’ils permettent de pallier efficacement l’impensé de la monnaie qui caractérise les théories néo-ricardienne et néoclassique, ils ne sont pas sans présenter des coûts théoriques importants. L’institution monétaire recouvre bien, dans la théorie, la centralité qu’elle a dans la réalité. Néanmoins, parce que la réflexion sur la valeur tend à se restreindre à sa seule dimension qualitative, en particulier dans le cas de l’approche monétaire, elle laisse hors-champ la détermination quantitative des ratios d’échange et du taux de profit. Nous proposons de recouvrer la définition du travail abstrait comme mesure immanente de la valeur s’exprimant dans les prix pour délimiter un champ d’articulation entre institutionnalisme monétaire et marxisme.
