Abstract

A topic that concerns the majority of hospitals, independent of their size or accouterments, is the increasing strain during working hours. The reasons for that are diverse and range from the demographic change to specific financing problems. But these causes are not picked out as a central theme in this text. The focuses of the following explanations are the effects. Particularly two sequences of the increasing strain during the working hours are more focused in the following. On the one hand are the health impairments inclusive the increasing strain during the working hours and on the other hand are the legal effects. The decision was made on these two aspects, because they are at opposite ends of the spectrum of possible consequences of the increasing strain during the working hours. In addition the two aspects show the problems of the employee and employer, too. The foundation of the contemplation is the relevant literature and specially the evaluation of timesheets of a maximum care hospital, with the aim to show the working-academically recommendations for reducing and avoidance of violation of working hours.
