Abstract

[fre] Cet article s'efforce, d'une part de faire le point sur l'état actuel de la théorie du rationnement du crédit, et, d'autre part, de proposer une nouvelle voie d'investigation.. Après avoir exposé les principaux fondements traditionnels du rationnement du crédit, une critique systématique de la théorie est entreprise, tant au niveau de sa cohérence interne que de ses résultats concrets. Une hypothèse nouvelle est alors développée, celle de la «volonté de remboursement du débiteur», dont la prise en considération montre que le rationnement du crédit est sans nul doute plus important que ne le suggère la théorie conventionnelle, tout en restant compatible avec celle-ci. [eng] critical analysis shows the partial inadequation of the conventional theory based on the ability of the borrower to repay. A new hypothesis, the willingness to repay, is then introduced, wich gives more realism to the theory.
