[Some ideas on ranking rules in association football in the light of the European qualifiers for the 2018 world championship]

Abstract

A cikk a labdarúgásban alkalmazott rangsorolási szabályok problémáit tárgyalja. Bemutatjuk a 2018. évi labdarúgó-világbajnokság európai selejtezőjének manipulálhatóságát: még 2017 októberében, a mérkőzések négyötödének lejátszását követően is megtörténhetett volna, hogy - az összes többi eredmény változatlansága mellett - egy csapat az utolsó mérkőzésén elért győzelemmel kiesik, döntetlennel viszont kijuthat a világbajnokságra. Azonosítunk további nyolc olyan világbajnoki és Európa-bajnoki selejtezőt, amelyek nem teljesítették a csalásbiztosság feltételét, és javaslatot teszünk egy ezen követelményt minden körülmények között teljesítő mechanizmus alkalmazására, amely nem áll távol a selejtezők történelmileg kialakult elveitől. Ismertetünk egy további kijátszható szabályt, és felidézünk néhány vitát generáló mérkőzést a labdarúgás történetéből. Munkánkkal szeretnénk felhívni a sportvezetés figyelmét, hogy a jövőbeli botrányok elkerülése érdekében elengedhetetlen a rangsorolás axiomatikus vizsgálata.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: C44, D71, L83.
