Abstract

Personal financial planning involves administrative, organization and systematic processes for an individual, family or organization. These activities should be performed efficiently and effectively, optimizing economic resources. Saving is a smart move that is not easy to accomplish. This does not mean spending less. The challenge is to know how to spend money to maximize income in managing their finances. Individuals obtain as a result an economic and quality of life improvement. This study provides information on the ability and academic skills of students in the economic-administrative area of the Southern Region Altos de Jalisco, Mexico. In the optimization exercise, their personal financial resources depend on control and saving income. This study identifies how students perform in undergraduate courses in personal finance curriculum. Learning units are considered related to administration and finance. The important result is that students take control of their personal finances and have the habit of saving that is recorded weekly. Most students are subsidized by their parents or guardians
