Concentración en el mercado laboral y su relación con los salarios en México/The relationship between labor market concentration and wages in Mexico

Abstract

Utilizando un panel se muestra la relación entre la concentración en el mercado laboral y las remuneraciones de los trabajadores. La concentración se calcula utilizando el índice de Herfindahl-Hirschman sobre el empleo. En el sector formal se encuentra que un aumento de una desviación estándar (3,566 puntos) del IHH está asociado con un aumento en las remuneraciones por trabajador de entre 2.1% y 2.9%. Esta elasticidad depende de la productividad laboral. En el sector informal se encuentra que un aumento de una desviación estándar (3,242 puntos) del IHH está asociado con un aumento en las remuneraciones por trabajador de entre 4.5% y 6%. Dicha elasticidad depende de la intensidad de uso del capital.
