Abstract

This work reviews the last developments introduced in the Common Urban Transport Policy in the European Union in general and in United Kingdow in particular. The recent changes in the regulation have incorporated new policies, new objectives and special attention to the environment problems generated by urban transport. The new policies try to solve the traditional problems confronted by the transport sector: divergences between private and social costs and congestion, induced journeys and the need to introduce those policies, gradually.
