Analysis of a built-in storage type of solar water heater

Abstract

The performance of a built-in storage type solar water heater has been analysed by using energy balances. Simple but precise expressions of the variation of water temperature with time in a tank have been derived for both day and night. The calculated hourly temperature variations of water are in close agreement with experimental data.
