Mersin’in XVII. Akdeniz Oyunlarý’ndan Beklentileri Üzerine Bir Araþtýrma

Abstract

Mersin’in XVII. Akdeniz Oyunlarý’ndan beklentilerini belirlemek amacýyla, yapýlandýrýlmýþ görüþme yöntemiyle bir araþtýrma gerçekleþtirilmiþtir. Görüþmeler; kentin il protokolünde yer alan kurumlar, sivil toplum kuruluþlarý, turizm sektöründen yöneticiler olmak üzere 25 yönetici ile yapýlmýþtýr. Görüþmeler 2013 Ocak-Haziran aylarý arasýnda yapýlmýþtýr. Ýçerik analiziyle elde edilen bulgular, katýlýmcýlarýn en çok kent ekonomisinde canlanma, kent reklam ve tanýtýmý ile kentin kültür mozaiðinin tanýtýmý, kentin turizm geliþimine katký, sosyal ve kültürel etkileþim gibi beklentilerinin bulunduðunu göstermektedir. Yerel iþletmelerin oyunlara hazýrlýk sürecinde dýþarýda býrakýlmalarý nedeniyle beklentilerinin kalmadýðýný ifade etmeleri, çalýþmanýn önemli bir bulgusunu oluþturmaktadýr. Çalýþma kentin bu etkinlik kapsamýnda; konaklama kapasitesi yetersizliði, ulaþým, çevre ve altyapý sorunlarý ile kentte kurumlar arasý iþbirliði ve turizmde örgütlenememe gibi yönetimsel sorunlarý da bulunduðunu ortaya koymaktadýr.
