Abstract

Dans ce papier on présente une analyse empirique pour mettre en évidence l’impact de long terme de l’infrastructure sur la croissance économique. On applique les tests individuels de racines unitaires pour chacune des variables retenues. La constatation empirique que ces tests souffrent de problème de puissance nous amène à considérer les tests de racines unitaires en panel. On passe par la suite à l’étude de la relation de long terme entre les différentes variables de l’infrastructure et le PIB en appliquant les méthodes de la cointégration dans les données d’un panel de dix pays de la région du moyen orient et de l’Afrique du nord. A l’opposé des résultats individuels pour chaque pays considéré, nos résultats mettent en évidence l’existence d’une relation de long terme entre la croissance économique de ces pays et leurs niveaux d’infrastructure, et par conséquent les choix et les décisions économiques peuvent être ciblés en fonction de cette relation.
