Abstract

This article presents a comparative methodology that questions the usual qualitative vs. quantitative split:the quali-quantitative comparative method. This method is aimed at taking into account complexity of phenomena, through qualitative case studies, while offering a specific technique to deal with data, based on Boolean algebra, which makes it possible to generalize results beyond particular case studies, like quantitative methods. This research method is well fitted to small N populations - between 4 and 50 cases - which is a very usual configuration in management science.
