Determinantes de los desajustes de la educación superior en Colombia

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene por objetivo determinar la existencia de desajustes educativos en los graduados de instituciones de educación superior en Colombia. Se entiende por desajuste educativo la diferencia entre el nivel educativo alcanzado y el requerido en el cargo desempenado. Un mayor nivel educativo al requerido implica sobreeducación, y el caso contrario representa infraeducación. Los resultados demuestran que el 41,87% de los graduados presentan algún desajuste, con una mayor participación de aquellos que manifiestan estar infraeducados. A partir de un modelo logit multinomial se identifican las variables que inciden en la probabilidad de ambos desajustes. Tener un nivel educativo de técnico o tecnólogo, residir en la región Centro-Oriente y contar con poca experiencia aumentan la probabilidad de estar infraeducado. Por su parte, el hecho de ser hombre y conseguir un nivel de estudios cada vez mayor aumenta la probabilidad de estar sobreeducado.
